Increment
An Increment is the sum of all the Product Backlog items completed during a Sprint combined with the value of the increments of all previous Sprints.
Characteristics
- Must be in a usable condition regardless of whether the Product Owner decides to release it
- Meets the Scrum Team’s Definition of Done
- Provides a visible step toward the product goal
Purpose
- Delivers tangible value to stakeholders and customers
- Enables frequent inspection and adaptation of the product
- Supports continuous integration and delivery
Definition of Done (DoD)
- A shared understanding of what it means for work to be complete
- Ensures quality and completeness of each Increment
- Can include coding, testing, documentation, and deployment criteria
