Increment

An Increment is the sum of all the Product Backlog items completed during a Sprint combined with the value of the increments of all previous Sprints.

Characteristics

• Must be in a usable condition regardless of whether the Product Owner decides to release it
• Meets the Scrum Team's Definition of Done — the commitment for the Increment
• Provides a concrete step toward the Product Goal

Purpose

• Delivers tangible value to stakeholders and customers
• Enables frequent inspection and adaptation of the product
• Supports continuous integration and delivery

Definition of Done (DoD) — Commitment for the Increment

• Created by the Scrum Team as a shared commitment for quality
• Ensures quality and completeness of each Increment
• Can include coding, testing, documentation, and deployment criteria
